One film I am sad not to be able to see in Cannes is Alejandro González Iñárritu’s latest,
Biutiful, which stars the splendid Javier Bardem. I know some have given up on the Mexican filmmaker after
Babel, but I remain convinced of his talents. Let's hope I'm not proved wrong.
Biutiful, Iñárritu’s first Spanish-language film since Amores Perros, screens on May 17, I believe.

Just to let you know a good number of people (myself included and the Academy, Golden Globes and Cannes jury) really, really liked Babel.

Yeah, Babel's his best so far-he really pulled off the multi-strand approach to story-telling there
Personally I prefer Amores Perroes. And I loved how much 21 Grams made you work for the story. But that's just me...
