John Hughes may not have directed a movie for 18 years but he was still a legend in my book, thanks to Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Planes Trains & Automobiles, and my personal favourites, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Some Kind Of Wonderful.By the time Hughes had left the teenage arena and moved into kiddie fare with Curly Sue and the Home Alone series, I'd pretty much moved on. But Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a movie I can and do watch repeatedly and never grow bored of.
And 59 is way too young to die. Rest In Peace.
