Sweeney DVD

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street is available on DVD in the US from today in both single and double-disc editions. Apparently a mini version of my Sweeney book is included with the two-disc set, while among the extras is the press conference I hosted in London with Burton, Depp, Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall and Richard Zanuck.

...and my copy should be here by Friday.

Excellent.

There's a great double bill coming up at a specialty theatre here next week - Sweeney followed by Corpse Bride!

That sounds like a great double bill.

Do let me know if I'm on the DVD. I haven't got a copy myself yet, and don't expect I'll get one before you.

Strangely enough, my copy arrived today!

And me going to a Modest Mouse show tonight...!

I shall certainly check out the press conference feature tomorrow evening and let you know. Tonight, I've jumped on here to do some banking and have the 'Johanna' reprise blasting the walls apart.

And it does sound like a great double bill, especially at that theatre - it's big and old and the screen is ENORMOUS.

It's my regret to report that you don't seem to appear. Although, if it was you saying "Thankyou Tim, Johnny..." etc at the completion of the London press conference, you can be heard.

Really solid extras package on the DVD. I'd have split throats and cracked skulls for a Burton, Depp, Bonham Carter & Sondheim commentary track, but on the whole, really great.
