Cannes line-up announced

Cannes officially unveiled its competition line-up this morning although the opening and closing films have yet to be announced. Full details can be found here.

No new Coens though? Shame. No Country released over here today. And my R1 TWBB arrived in the post. Capital.

And no Michael Winterbottom, either, which is a surprise.

No, I don't do Cannes anymore. I've done my fair share, and since the demise of Premiere (the magazine), it wouldn't be the same anyway.

Nice to see Soderbergh's two Che Guevara films made the cut -- barely from what I've read. I heard they may be screened as works-in-progress.

And as one film, by accounts. Screening a work in progress didn't do Francis Ford C any harm.

Yes, very interesting line-up, can't wait! Mark, any tips on places to go, drink, eat? Like I said last year was my first festival & I rarely get to Cannes otherwise.
