More Hurt

Despite the various attempts, some unwitting, some not, to derail The Hurt Locker Oscar bandwagon, I have faith that justice will prevail on Sunday night in Hollywood and Kathryn Bigelow's superb movie will walk away with the statuette for Best Picture.

Before then, may I direct you to Hurt screenwriter/producer Mark Boal's article for Playboy, The Man In The Bomb Suit, that was the genesis of the movie. It's a cracking read.

Yeah, the film's producer really stuck his foot in his mouth on this one and now it's been spread all over the Internet. Should be interesting if this sways voters at all. I sure hope not as I would love to see this film win Best Picture but I think it's going to go to AVATAR with Bigelow getting Best Director.

I think having thrown the door open to ten titles to include the commercial hits there's a section of the industry that would love Avatar to win. And there was, I have to admit, a time when I thought that was going to happen. Not now.

I think it's Hurt Locker for Best Film, although I'd still like to see Up sneak in and win...
