Should any of you living in the US fancy going to the cinema this weekend, might I suggest you get yourself along to a theater (as you'd have it) showing How To Train Your Dragon. Even if you don't have kids.
As animated movies go, it's right up there with the best, nudging close to Pixar territory. Aided by Roger Deakins' exquisite eye, it's beautifully shot and lovingly crafted — the CG beards, in particular, are stunning — and it begs to be seen in 3D. Plus, it features dragons. And vikings. What else do you need to know. Go see it.

Thanks for that Matt.
I took my 6 year old god son to see it this past weekend and he LOVED it! I mean he never stirred in his chair...eyes on the screen all of the time. And the 3D effects are brilliant. It's fun watching the kids try to reach out and touch things falling from the sky. The story is sweet with enough adult level humor (that zooms way over the kids' heads) to keep any adult entertained. It's just a lovely movie. I highly recommmend it!!!! And I agree...dragons, Vikings and a hero named Hiccup! What's not to like?!
So glad you both enjoyed it. It's good. Very, very good. I've been recommending it to every adult I know, with or without kids.
And the 3D is outstanding. Compared to Clash... Well, let's not go there.
