Saw this yesterday and it is indeed a blast. Typical Boyle. Energetic, joyful, propulsive, brilliantly shot by Anthony Dod Mantle with a rush of colour and terrific performances from a mostly non-professional cast of kids, and offering an eye-opening view of life in India for both poor and wealthy alike. I don't think Boyle's ever made a bad film, but this is one of his best. Can't wait to see it again.

I've read the book about two years ago, and I thought it would do a good movie. The book is quite nice, but not extraordinary.I was happy to learn that it was Danny Boyle who would make it, and I am curious to see if he managed to make the movie better than the book....
Haven't read the book but I believe they took some liberties in adapting the script. To be honest, the film is rather simply structured, but it's Boyle's direction that makes it so wonderful.
