Halloween countdown: The Evil Dead

Hard to believe this was once banned in the UK as a "video nasty", Sam Raimi defended it in courts across the land, and when it was finally released for home viewing they cut the tree rape scene. How times change.

Ridley Scott commercials here:

The Barclays Bank Bladerunner ads bring back memories but that Miami Vive Pepsi ad is best left forgotten!

Great debut film for Raimi... altho, EVIL DEAD II holds a special place in my heart for the flying eyeball scene. It don't get much better than that!

Hey Mr. Salisbury. :) Sorry that this has nothing to do with Halloween, but is there a way to contact you privately? I'm writing my final thesis on Guy Ritchie's films and I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions/pointers, if you don't mind and if you have the time. My email can be found on my Blogger profile. :) Thanks.

i still like the original evil dead best. don't get me wrong, i really like dead by dawn but i find it's strange mix of sequel/remake a little off putting...
