Sweeney Todd poster

This glorious poster popped up online last night following its appearance at Comic-Con and it looks fabulous.

Call me biased regarding Tim Burton, if you like, on account of my long-standing relationship with the man forged through my many years of interviewing him for my book Burton On Burton, but I'm the first to admit I disliked most of his Planet Of The Apes. That said, I love almost everything else he's made, even Mars Attacks which, to my mind, is a work of subversive genius that will, in the not too distant future, finally get the recognition it truly deserves.

There's been some carping in certain online quarters about how Burton's lost it, and about how this is going to be a disaster. Wrong. Wrong. WRONG. I'm not really at liberty to say much about Sweeney, but, take it from me, this is going to be something very special. People are going to be surprised and really blown away when they see what Burton, Depp and co are serving up this time around. Trust me.

you couldn't be more right. Depp STILL in his prime (and probably VERY happy to get out of the POTC role and show people what he can really do) and Burton ALWAYS on point (sans Planet) will give us a movie we've been dying to see.

i'm sure though (much like Sweeney) only the dedicated fans will hear the music that nobody hears.

i hope i'm wrong on that count.

oh, and sorry i've been gone... your site here was giving me a LOT of trouble (continous loading and re-loading as well as asking me if i want to display "secured information" or not).

i think i've got it beat though...

Welcome back. You were missed.

I'm wondering why you were having problems. Was it the youtube links?

no. it's in the comment section. and i have no clue why. i can't do ANYTHING until i hit the "stop" button in my browser at exactly the right moment. so exhausting. unfortunatly, instead of commenting willy-nilly, i have to REALLY feel like i have something to say. and then dive in and try to actually not get too frustrated with the process.

blarg. i'm still reading, though. that i can do without seeing any "secured information".

Have hopefully sorted it now. Once again, sorry, don't know what happened there. Am offline until Aug 20. Hope to see you back then.
