Vic Armstrong

I shall moderating a Stunt Masterclass With Vic Armstrong tomorrow evening at the BFI Southbank as part of the Bond Weekender. There are still some tickets available to hear tales from the legendary stuntman, stunt co-ordinator and second unit director whose credits are too endless to list here, but include numerous Bonds, three Indiana Jones', several Supermans (he even donned the tights as Chris Reeve's stunt double). Should be most interesting.

I had the pleasure of watching this lecture yesterday, after spending the afternoon looking at the Bond vehicles on display on the South Bank.

Vic was informative, witty, and very down to earth. Completely the opposite to the public perception of stuntmen, fashioned by such films as "Hooper".

The session ran for exactly the right time and the Q & A session was mercifully free from "fanboys" and "nut-jobs".

The moderation was also top draw. All in all, a very good event from the BFI. Shame it wasn't better attended.

XoD.

Thanks for the nice write up. I felt we could have gone on even longer. Vic has so many great stories to tell but there was a screening at 8.30 and I was aware of having to wrap it up by 8.20 at the latest.

Thanks also for stopping by at the site. Hope to have you hear again.
