Briefly...

First the good news: Joe Johnston is directing Captain America.

Now the disappointing: Brett Ratner is apparently directing Conan.

I wasn't too keen on those colour Star Trek shots that appeared recently, but these I like. Spock, in particular, looks great in moody black and white.

That's a shame about Ratner directing CONAN. Nuthin' is gonna beat the Milius/Ah-Nuld version back in the '80s.

I can see Johnston directing CAPTAIN AMERICA. In some respects, films like THE ROCKETEER have been a warm-up for tackling something like ol' Cap.

I loved The Rocketeer when I saw it on its initial release. And I love it today. It's a shamefully under-rated movie in IMHO. I think he's a great choice.

Ah! Nice to see some love for THE ROCKETEER. I was a big fan of the comic book and felt that they really captured the spirit of it in the film. As you say, very under-rated, but I think a lot of people discovered it on video and TV judging by the number of fans it has now. I sure with Disney would give it the deluxe SE treatment on DVD one of these days.
