Offline...

I'll be recharging my batteries for the next ten days, so don't expect any postings for a while. Be good while I'm gone, and chat amongst yourselves, should you feel so inclined.

It worked out that I saw the film four times in its first week (first had tickets to a Gold Class screening on its second day which I had off work, then bought tix for a Begins/TDK double a few days later, THEN was approved for the day it actually came out off and bought tix for that with some friends and THEN was booked in for a review screening the night before it released!) but I STILL haven't seen the damn thing in IMAX!

Glad it's BBQworthy, S4B. I'll get myself to the IMAX ASAP 4 OMGWTFBBQ!!1

Well, at least you guys have seen it. Some of us just wait, again and again....

yeah yeah ger. it was totes BBQ. my brother saw it opening night and, after seeing it in IMAX, wished he had waited a week.

while the movie was 2.5hrs, i barely felt it. it ripped along with such gusto and crackling intensity that i literally found myself on the edge of my seat several times. i have to say, this is the SECOND superhero movie that i've seen where TWO villans are fully developed within one movie (Batman Begins being the first). Nolan seems to have a knack for this where other comicbook movies fail miserably. **COUGHspidermanCOUGH** i was a little sad that they killed off two-face. i don't know why superhero movies insist that a villan must die for it to have an end. with that in mind i was SHOCKED that they didn't kill the joker. then i was sad b/c who is going to put on the face paint next time? will there BE a next time?

in anycase, if you get the chance, rent (or buy as i did) "Batman: Gotham Knight". it's 6 animated short films about Bats (anime stylee) with really good villans (with great movie potential) and just an overall fun 76 minute romp that's not your network-typical animated batman cartoon.

oh, and today is day #10 for mr. salisbury.

We should probably flag this SPOILERS for anyone such as stram who's yet to see the film, so enter at your own risk...

I wholly agree about the time thing; my first viewing flew by, and even my three repeat viewing have yet to see me feel those 2.5hrs. I'd have liked perhaps a little more of Dent's transition to Two-Face, or at least a little more of him and Rachel earlier on, just to sort of amplify our understanding of exactly how much he's lost, but really, it's a small complaint. I get why they offed him, though, considering how Nolan gave him his disfigurement (like, wouldn't his whole face rot off and he'd die soon enough?) but it did leave me wanting more of him. SO glad they kept The Joker around, and I sincerely hope they don't consider recasting. I quite like the idea of Ledger's Joker living on as a force felt and mentioned though next time unseen. As for the two villains thing, I'd totally put Batman Returns in with Nolans films, too. Penguin and Catwoman are both fantastically developed characters. I'd love to see Nolan do Catwoman - DK even had that throwaway little line about his new suit... Eva Greene or Emily Blunt please Mr Nolan.

Gotham Knight is great, I picked up the DVD and caught a screening in a cinema of it at a festival over here. LOVE the Killer Croc one!

oh yeah... sorry about the spoilers thing. guess i got a little jumpy. i'm not a professional blog commenter as much as i might profess to be.

again, sorry stram. but, if you've even read this far, it's not gonna ruin the movie for you.

That's ok, i guess that even if i want to see the movie for the story, i'm more eager to see the movie for the way it's done, for the performance,... so, i'll try to forget what i've read :-) shouldn't be so hard.

But, yeah, next time, we make a spoiler alert, that's a good idea!
