Hotel Chevalier on iTunes

You will recall my enthusiasm for Hotel Chevalier, the 13-minute short that came with Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited when I saw it at Venice. Well, the film won't be playing with Darjeeling's theatrical release but it will be available free to download from iTunes this coming Wednesday. May I strongly urge everyone to do so, not just because of the presence of a certain (tastefully) naked actress, but because the short itself is quite charming and it will make your viewing of The Darjeeling Limited that much more rewarding.

i love wes anderson's dialogue. i can understand how some people don't "get" it and how they don't feel like there's anything TO his movies... but that's because they're not letting themselves into the moments that he captures. "i promise i will never ever be your friend."

anderson doesn't write how people talk. he writes how people think. the pauses. the contemplation and careful choice of words... i could have watched another 20 minutes of Hotel Chevalier EASILY.

now i have to go rave about it to my one friend who will understand.
