Yeah, Gondry's gonna have to do A LOT to make us believe Seth Rogen is a bonafide action hero. Some decent visuals but I don't think I'll be rushing to see this opening day.
I'm actually delighted that it doesn't look particularly "Gondry." His style is fine when restrained, but the unfettered ramblings in "Science of Sleep" really killed it for me.
In interviews he's recently said that he doesn't want to be seen as a gimmick director, and I appreciate that. The trailer certainly shows that they've got the character dynamic down. Curious to see more.

Also, if anyone can cull a well rounded performance from a comedian, Gondry has proven it.

I know where you (and he) are coming from, but from the look of that trailer, the movie could have been directed by a number of guys (or gals)...
