When the first Fantastic Mr Fox trailer appeared, there were many online who positively disliked the film's exceedingly retro style of stop-motion. Personally, I like it. I know where Wes Anderson's coming from with it — specifically, Ladislas Starevitch’s 1941 feature Le Roman de Renard — and, believe me, it works. When the first Fantastic Mr Fox trailer appeared, there were many online who positively disliked the film's exceedingly retro style of stop-motion. Personally, I like it.
