The Coens nab the DGA and Robert Elswitt wins the ASC award for There Will Be Blood. Both worthy winners. But if you're bored with all the awards talk, remember there's only a month until the Oscars, and then we can all start looking forward to the summer again...

Any thoughts about today's SAG awards?
I think the DDL bandwagon has picked up even more speed. Just as with PSH's Capote and Whitaker last year, I fear this is a race with only one winner...
I'm putting my neck out on the old chopping block...here goes... while I think DDL turned in a great performance, I didn't see anything new or different. I saw the same character in Bill, in Gangs of New York. Did he step out of his comfort zone? Try something new? Not to me.
Depp certainly stepped out of his comfort zone and portrayed a new character in Sweeney Todd.
And if it doesn't go to Depp? I think Viggo Mortenson certainly dug deep into his actor's bag of tricks for Eastern Promises.
I'm actually with you Karen on DDL v JD. Then again, I also thought Heath Ledger deserbed to win the year the PSH/Capote machine railroaded the Oscars and every other award ceremony.
Whew, my neck lives another day.
Mark we are on the same page about HL too. As much as I appreciated PSH in Capote...that "win" (and I use the term loosely here) was a travesty.
