I love Ray Harryhausen, I was in thrall of his creations as a child and I'll always be grateful to him for firing up my imagination. I recently got his book My Animated Life signed by the great man, it was a real privilege to meet him. Those early films by Peter Jackson are hilarious and nice to see Tim Burton pop up too.
P.S. Mark I just finished Bob Balaban's Close Encounters diary at your recommendation and loved it, thanks so much for the tip. I've moved on to The Jaws Log now!

Growing up, Jason and The Argonauts was my favourite movie. Every time it was on TV my dad and I would sit down and watch it together.

Did you make it along to the BAFTA event? I really wish I could have been there. I did get to go to Ray's house one time to interview him and see one of the skeletons up close.

Glad you liked the Balaban book. Haven't read it in years but I remember there being something about bubble gum...
