Opening credits

I'm a sucker for a great opening credits sequence, and this has to be one of the best: simple but oh so effective.

And, of course, there's this which sets the tone quite brilliantly for all the horror that's to come.

What are your favourites?

The opening credits of FIGHT CLUB are amazing... starting off in the brain and pulling alllllll the way back to the barrel of a gun.

For the more slow burn, atmospheric effect, I always loved the opening credits of BLUE VELVET, elegant credits playing over a sea of velvet. It really helps establish the mood of the film.

Both great choices I have to say.

I finally went out and caught Zombieland yesterday. Fun, energetic opening titles there, and a little stylistically similar to the ultra slo-mo tableaus of Watchmen's.

Speaking of, I'm struggling to think of a better set of opening credits I've seen this year. Coraline's were pretty great, too, now I think of it - simple and spooky.
