More MoMA

Variety has a nice article on Tim Burton's MoMA exhibition which I promise you will be well worth visiting.

"It's easier for me to think things through visually instead of verbally, so it's like a diary in that way," Burton said of the show. "I have so many drawings. I never look at the stuff — I just keep doing it."

The exhibition runs November 22 to April 26.

The Art Of Tim Burton will also be available later in the year. Again, if you're a fan, you're going to want to get yourself a copy.

So that image is pretty fantastic...

Meanwhile, all goes to plan, I'll be there in April.

I'll let you know how it is. I'm aiming for November.

So you've booked your flight?

Not as yet, no, but am hoping to coincide my trip with that of a friend's. Plus it gives me longer to accrue some savings - I'd like to stay in NY for at least a few weeks.

New York... it's my kind of town.

Well, it would be if I lived there. Although I do love it.

I'm in the middle of another fantastic, cinematically-inclined sojourn and already I desperately pine for this...

What's the story with the book, by the by? Will it be available in stores or online order only? MUST. HAVE.

If you signed up to the website to receive details I'm sure they'll let you know how it's going to be available. It will be on sale in certain shops that much I know.

Is there going to be a grand opening with Tim present, I may book a trip for that. Also it mentions a 'limited edition' version of the book, I'm guessing fancy cover and signed? I'm signed up for updates...

There will be a special opening event at MoMA that I'm sure Tim will be present at, and yes there's also going to a limited edition of the book with extra stuff in.

PS. And hello to you Lloyd. Nice of you to drop by.

I'm sure the grand opening will be reserved for people like your goodself, I may make the trip to see the exhibits anyway. I'm a massive fan, been one all my life since I saw Frankenweenie as a lad. Wrote my architectural dissertation on his films and had the pleasure of seeing his early work when your gave your insightful lecture at the BFI, I'm sure the exhibition will be awesome. Keep up the good work, your Blog is always a good read.

The exhibition does indeed promise to be awesome, with not just drawings on display, but with props and footage from his early movies too.

Thanks for the kind words about the site and the talk. It's nice to have you here.
