"Ja, ja, ja!"

The word from Cannes on Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds was mixed, but this second trailer actually makes me want to see it. As I've said before, Tarantino lost me a long time ago, although on the strength of this alone, I'm prepared to give him another shot.

Yeah, this film could go either way. It wasn't all that well-received at Cannes with a mixed reaction at best. It better do well for the Weinsteins' sake or they'll be going belly up in no time.

And I'm sure there are plenty who would love to see that happen.

Love the Nightbreed/Cronenberg headshot, by the way. I spent a lot of time on the set of that, and co-wrote the making of book.

I have been looking forward to this film for a long time, but the first trailer did kind of leave me disappointed...however after seeing the second trailer (and the extended version of it), I'm excited again...the trailer makes it look like it has better pacing than recent Tarantino films.

I was also way excited to hear “Comin Home” by Murder By Death play in the second part of this trailer…such a great mood setter, with it’s Johnny Cash-gone-punk vibe…I hope it’s featured in the movie itself, too.

Oh and FYI there’s an extended version of this trailer at : http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/06/24/inglourious-basterds/

Mark:

Yeah, I thought you might dig that. I wrote up a piece on the film, here:

Let me know what you think!

@ Brett

Thanks for that and thanks too for stopping by.

@ J.D.

Will do. I remember thinking at the time that Nightbreed felt like such a missed opportunity, that Clive had one movie in mind and the financiers had another...
